Seducing Lauren

I really had a good time with Seducing Lauren. It wasn't as good as the first book, the pacing in the book was on and off. The first half started off really really strong and I didn't want to put it down. But in the second half, it was much more challenging to stay into the story and be truly invested. I did love the idea of a lawyer hero with a romance author for a heroine who is also at risk of being in danger from her ex. I found the dynamic between them interesting, loved their soft filled relationship. I do find Proby's writing style in how the pair doesn't fight too long what they feel, but seem to embrace their connection. I did find the plot aspect of the ex and how its portrayed throughout the story. I loved the endearing connection that they had together. Really beautifully done despite the issues on the pacing of the story growth.

So about that Kristen Proby book binge I went on last week? I might be a little more distracted these days and it’s taking me a bit longer to get through each book, I LOVED escaping to Montana with the Love Under the Big Sky series. In fact, it pretty much made me want to escape to Montana in real life and find myself a man like the ones in this series. Do you think it’d work that way?

Seducing Lauren was a great follow up to Loving Cara. I was only lukewarm to Lauren going in, thanks to the mean girl company she kept during the first book. Sure, she broke away from them towards the end, but I was still side eyeing her a bit. But once I got into her head and in her story? It didn’t take long before I was a fan. I enjoyed that she was a romance writer. It feels so meta when you read about a romance writer in a romance book. ;) She was a great, strong character. I appreciated that she left her (seriously unstable asshole) ex husband behind and was doing what she needed to get away from him. I also knew we likely wouldn't get through the entire book without him causing some problems and unfortunately I wasn't wrong. But, I'm not gonna get into that. You can experience it for yourself. The guy is a piece of work... and NOT in a good way.

Ty, on the other hand, was totally swoony. I absolutely adored him. He was smart and strong, super protective of the people he cared about. I loved his friendship with Josh in the first book, but I appreciated his chemistry with Lauren even more in this one. Like Lauren, he had a past he was trying to overcome... and doing a pretty good job of, to be honest. Ty's been all about Lauren for awhile now, but she just started to see what an amazing guy he is. They have wicked chemistry and their sexy times are off the charts hot. *fans self*

I enjoyed this book so very much. Much like Loving Cara, it grabbed my attention from the very start and made me want to keep flipping pages. I was addicted to the setting, the characters and the story as a whole. There was a bit more drama to this one than in the first book, but with the bastard ex, I expected nothing less. While he caused some ugly moments, they never overshadowed the romance and friendships that made this book one I couldn't read fast enough, but also really didn't want to end.
