3 stars only and only for J I was wavering between giving it a 2 or a 5, settled to 3. What I liked: Jeremiah. He is IT for me. I was intrigued by his character from the start. What made him like this? Why is he cruel? And this book - I was hurting for J the entire time. The author's writing style is FANTASTIC. I couldn't stop myself from reading. I read the entire series in 24 hrs. Now what didn't work for me (Spoilers ahead) Lucifer and Lilith are a train wreck waiting to happen. I started off loving the two but sadly, I don't like them. I don't really see any character development in any of the characters except J. There's too much OW/OM, orgy drama, the guys just passing the girls around. I skimmed through the ending once J exited. I do not like cheating or sharing - seriously, half the book is just that. That's when the book started to fall flat for me. Honestly, the MCs tell each other they are it, they love each other - all of that fell flat. Lucifer doesn't come off as a real alpha hero, and acts more like a kid. Damn, I just can't even. I loved him in the first two books. Idk why he turned out like this in the fourth. I hate him and it's so frustrating! Sid had so much potential. She just acted selfish the entire time. That is what's killing me. All the development of the first two books disappeared. Just having sex solves all their problems. Right. I feel some of the sexual stuff that happens wasn't really needed. By the end of this book, the cult felt more like just a sex device. And I am surprised at how Maverick croons how beautiful his sister looks naked. Like wtf?! There is really no plot - other than exploring J's past and all the 'sharing your woman is caring fest'. I do recommend this book if you liked Amo Jones' Elite King series.

Edit (2/26/21): was looking back on this book and this review and my feelings toward it just got worse lmao so I'm lowering my rating to 3 stars.

Rating: 4 Stars!

To be completely honest, I almost gave this book 3.5 stars.

It's been 9 days since BOR released so my review will have a few *mild* spoilers.

This book has absolutely no character development for Sid. NONE. There is absolutely none. Her character is actually the reason why I couldn't give this book 5 stars. I had been told by a couple of people that there would be but, again, THERE WAS NONE.

For me, she is somehow worse than where we first started in the 1st book.

I won't be going into the plot itself because that is just full of spoilers and there is a reason why KV didn't send out the arc until just days before the release (and it took me 8 days to pick it up, as you can see, I'm a great reviewer).

This book also RUINED Jeremiah for me. He does this one really terrible thing in this book that I just couldn't ignore. And this is coming from a huge #teamJeremiah girl. There was a part towards the end of the book where I felt like his character had development but even with that, I can't forgive neither him NOR SID for what they did.

So far it sounds like I haven't enjoyed this book at all (why I almost went with 3.5) but I did enjoy the writing and the side characters. Oh my god, THE SIDE CHARACTERS. Mav and Ella are even better in this book and I honestly want and need another book from them. I also immediately NEED Cain's book asap!

Something shocking also happened with this book: I got a bit attached to Lucifer...I KNOW I KNOW! That is a WILD statement coming from ME if you know me. But I could see and feel all of his pain, both from all the stuff that he has done for and to save Sid (WHICH SHE IS COMPLETELY UNGRATEFUL FOR). I could understand all of his actions from book 3 -which are still dumb, but I understand them more. And I just fell a little bit for him.

So basically (and shockingly) Lucifer saved this book for me.
I hate Sid even more now and really hope that this is the end of her story (but not her character arc if she doesn't grow, I'm quitting lol). Jeremiah is sadly not my favorite anymore and I don't know how to fell about the ending.

HANDS DOWN THIS IS THE BEST ENDING I'VE READ! 🙌🏼

Oh yes, this boy did ruin me! What happens every second in unpredictable. It was dark, steamy and twisted.
I haven't read any of the previous books in the Unsainted series, but could still figure out the past storyline. If you want to read this, but you haven't read the previous books, don't stop yourself from this one!

To be honest, I had so many scenarios going through my mind while I was reading this.
Initially, I was confused as in why does Sid love any of the two guys. Both of them are scary, dangerous & a bit pyscotic, but well she too doesn't fall far behind in that category.🤷🏽‍♀️
As the story continued, I was stuck between rooting for Lucifer or Jeremiah. We have the pain from the past, the horrors faced and the current situation. I was totally utterly messed up, but I did root for the winning team! Can't reveal that to y'all now, can I? 🤭

The story has three characters having a bitter, alarming past who find solace in each other in their own f*cked up ways. There's love, hate, pain, jealousy, rage, secrets, possessiveness, insecurity, betrayal, stupidity, dark moments, passion and a never expected ending!

This book does not end as a cliffhanger but gives a hint of the next book.

**Not for the faint hearted.**

I know I’m a little biased when it comes to KV and her books, but Boy of Ruin was phenomenal and oh so heartbreaking.

I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in to BOR, and was super anxious to see where Sid, Luce, and J would end up, but god did I get f*cking wrecked. I mean that in the best way possible, I really do, but this book was absolute h*ll on my emotions. I’ve always been Sid + Luce forever, but after finally getting a glimpse into Jeremiah’s head and seeing how much he loved her and how far he was willing to go for her... Wow, just wow.

It’s so bittersweet to let go of some of my favorite characters and I can’t even tell you how many times I ugly cried while reading, but I cannot wait for more books about my Unsainted babies, especially after that ending!
