By day, Yumi works as a regular office job, but, by night, she works as a call-girl; she needs the money to make ends meet - and to feed her pet crocodile. So begins this thought provoking manga title.

Took me a bit to get into this since the art style is rough and characters' thoughts are not edited out but intrude on the storyline. After I got used to that, it ended up being a strength of this tale. I'm the kind of reader that actually kind of enjoys getting emotionally manipulated by a story so this one is a win for me there.

First of all, I picked this book up solely because of the cover and the explicit content, and in that I was not disappointed. The artwork is lovely. It's a sort of raggedy looking style that I absolutely love, but the ending caught me completely off guard. I devoured this in a few hours and maybe I should go back and re-read to catch some of the more darker tones, and it is dark. It is. I loved the characters, especially Yumi. She was completely out of it half the time and almost selfish, but she was a woman that I really enjoyed reading about. The only problem I have is the ending; it seemed very abrupt and of course, I didn't want it to end that way. Still, some of the panels are absolutely beautiful and I'll probably go back and read it again just for them.
