Ugh. I wanted to love this book, I LOVED the first one in the series and I had high expectations for this one but I’m so devastated to say it fell short.
For starters, I have to say this isn’t a stand-alone. It follows directly on from the first book, and a large part of it revolves around something that happens at the previous book’s end, but does not show in this one. There’s also more than a few things that happen which occur in the first book but aren’t even slightly reminded of here. It just feels a bit off for me.
Second, I didn’t really like Jason. Bully romances are my newfound thing, but he’s one I just don’t like, not do I really get why he did what he did, specifically to Felicity. To be honest, I wanted to see more vulnerability from both Jason and Felicity. I wanted to see their weaknesses, their faults and how that affects them. I also don’t think Jason really knows Felicity all that well.
I’m also going to be honest and say I almost DNFed this book twice, but I did plough through. This book is slow. It goes round in circles and it doesn’t really progress until WAY late in the book. 
Like I said, I was expecting great things from this book, I wanted to love it, but it fell flat.

Did he end up stealing my heart? Yes BUT Cameron is still my number one lol


Going into this book I was a little hesitant because I honestly wasn't sure what LA Cotton would throw at us with the redemption arc of Jason Ford. If you're hesitant like I was, DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO IT!! LA Cotton was able to masterfully show me that Jason deserves a second chance! 

Too proud and stubborn to ask for help, Jason Ford is under so much pressure. His struggles are so real and I connect with his character so much. 

Felicity is the only who can calm and distract him from the pressure from his father and the fact that maybe he doesn't actually know what he wants...and he HATES that. 

The thing I loved most about this book was that Felicity knows exactly what she wants, and that as much as she hates to love Jason, she is not about to let him get in the way of her dreams.
