Omg I loved this book!! L.H Cosway writes some of the best banter and that would explain how I was once again immediately powerless to it! Also, why I'm so happy for my terrible sleep habits so I could happily stay up all night reading because that was so much fun! There's just so much to love about this romance it's got polar opposite characters that somehow work perfectly to the point you wonder how they went so long without the other in their lives!! Neil is very Type A he likes things in his life to be professional, and organized. He's also a little neurotic and uptight, but really a complete cinnamon roll. Afric is his opposite she's outgoing, carefree, messy, and has almost no filter. 

When these two meet at a casual lunch with their mutual friend it really doesn't go well, and Neil is convinced she is the most unpleasant person he's ever met and hopes he will never encounter her ever again. Of course, we know that won't be the last they see of each other and I personally loved that anticipation of seeing how they will manage to wind up in each other's paths again. 
 
There was a beautiful message about not judging people right away because you might miss out on someone special. I adore the hell out of Neil and Afric both as individual characters, but especially together because they really complimented the other. Gosh, Neil was such a shock to me because he had a hidden sexy side I never expected and only Afric seemed to bring it out of him so hell yess I was 100% here for that dynamic!

 I also love that when they became friends that she started becoming super protective of him, you could see both the genuine care and the jealousy mixed in there. There was so much to love about their interactions starting out as annoyance between them to a reluctant friendship, and then eventually to something just deeper. Though it was fun seeing Afric delibertaly trying to rile Neil up and make him blush. Quickly they developed a friendship during the time Neil had to go away for work because she was found out his secret and that led them to talking every day and becoming close through long distance communication... Afric getting Neil to be more confident was precious🥺🥺 

This whole situation was pretty enjoyable as a reader not to mention so much comedy and banter as Neil started enjoying her particular sense of humor. I loved their nightly movie dates and it was cute how they couldn't wait to spend time with each other. Neither wanted to admit that their feelings started to shift so there were these chapters of some great mutual pinning and thank you dual pov because there were so much wonderful internal thoughts on both sides!!

It did really feel like a believable emotional connection they were forming during Neil time away that by the time they finally reunite again face to face those sparks were flying! Neither was willing to admit their feelings which created so much sexual tension and all those absent touches and lingering looks gave me butterflies. Neil and Afric had both major insecurities around dating and I liked how those topics were discussed and how they broke through some together. Now there was some conflict mainly the accidental catfishing situation Neil got himself into with another girl but I thought it was handled quite well and believable with his character's personality. If this hadn't been an author I already loved the catfishing in the book description might have given me a pause but really it wasn't bad at all. From start to finish I just had an amazing time falling for this unlikely pairing! I don't think I will forget it anytime soon and I think will be a go-to rom com when I need a little pick me up
