I enjoyed this book but it felt rushed. So many connections were either assumed or simply lacking. The overall conclusion seemed to have little to do with the opening problem. Also, in this book, like so many of her others, Chaikin conveniently connects all the characters by blood or marriage though the protagonist couple is always conveniently distantly enough related to make a match palatable. I thought at first that this series would survive the purge but not anymore. I just don't like it enough.
