I like the premise but felt that at times that the ball was dropped.

I did enjoy reading about Cassie's journey to self love. 

I was not grabbed like I had hoped to be and therefore it took me longer to read. 

Happy there was a book 2 until I read it ... seriously, WTF.

I wish there was a S.E.C.R.E.T. in real life ... I could use some "empowerment" LOL.

Instead of billing it as erotica ... I would have to categorize it more as chick lit.

Following the likes of the "Fifty Shades" empire, "S.E.C.R.E.T." is another erotic fiction release but with a unique twist.

Meet Cassie. A 35 year old who was previously married for 14 years to Scott, an abusive alcoholic who eventually left her a widow at only 29. Since then, Cassie has become reclusive and hasn't been involved or intimate with a man for the past 5 years. But she's had enough. When an unexpected opportunity arises to secretly live out 9 of her innermost fantasies with complete strangers, Cassie finds herself accepting the challenge. S.E.C.R.E.T. arranges these encounters over the course of a year, and through these encounters, Cassie learns a little more about herself. For every step completed, she recieves a charm to attach to a bracelet given to her by the S.E.C.R.E.T. society. At the end of the year, Cassie must decide whether to stay with S.E.C.R.E.T. as one of the committee or leave and find a meaningful relationship outside the society.

I found that I enjoyed the premise of the novel even though it's rather far-fetched. The fantasies would be ridiculously expensive to set up and the participants don't pay a cent. Everything is supposedly taken care of by money left from the founder. But it is fantasy after all right?

Cassie was a likable character who I found myself rooting for right to the end. But unlike a fairy tale, the ending is not what you would expect. And that was a positive thing in my opinion.

Anyone who enjoys erotic fiction should be pleased with this book. Overall it was a fun, mindless read and the beginning of a promising series.
