A great read for people who don’t understand how much representation matters! I can remember being an uncool nerd that “real” punks doubted and looked down on. That obviously doesn’t come close to the experience of someone who also has to worry about racism and sexism on top of everything else, so I am very grateful to have learned about these women’s experiences. A great companion to Hanif Abdurraqib’s writing on the so-called inclusivity of the punk and metal scenes.
