The synopsis and the cover got me hooked, but when I started reading it, I found the MC too annoying, everything she did didn't seem as justified to me, and it was hard to finish it. I only powered through because I really hate to DNF'd books, but man, it was difficult to do that.

I was instantly sold on this book by cover alone, after reading the synopsis I had high hopes, and after beginning the novel, my hopes were quickly dashed. I pushed myself as far as I could, but ending up DNF-ing around 60%. There were far too many things I disliked and not enough things I liked that I just couldn't bring myself to continue. Shame, I really thought this one had potential. That old saying, never judge a book by its cover, is definitely true with this one for me.

Love Match by Laire McKinney is a romance novel set on some secluded island where we meet a Prince Shai, whose Father has recently died and returns to the Island to reign after his long life lived in Europe.
Serena, a journalist signs up to be a member of a royal coterie. She thinks that this job might get her promoted.

This was a quick and enjoyable read! While I liked the characters and the hilarious banter between them. However, as I read throughout the book, I felt it lacked some certain spark for me. There is drama, humor, and tension in this novel, and it is entertaining!

If you're looking for a fun, quick, romantic comedy read this book is definitely should jump into your TBR!

           THIS WAS SUCH A CUTE STORY, YOU GUYS!! I really enjoyed reading this one and it's not a slow-burn!!! I am squealing the entire time because of how cute they are and let me tell you, the sexual tension is intense! "I like the idea of you ripping off my tie." AAAAAHH please they just laughed it off! LMAO, what a cutie! The story is just *chef's kiss* I really love the characters. Serena is beautiful, funny, and a fighter (yup, evidence is the broken nose of her cheater ex-fiance) while Shai is hot and stunning. Skye is so funny, she has no censor with her words. I understand where Serena got her personality. Tareek is such a cute & loyal guy as well as Chiro. And Madame!! please I love her so much. I send my regards to Oscar, that poor piggy. I just love how it ended, they're such a cute couple even though their relationship happened too fast but who cares? Those things happened in real life too. Don't even get me started with Mick the cheating bastard. I hate the guts of cheaters. He deserves that broken nose. I love the improvement of Serena though, from a cheating bastard to a Prince. YAAS!!

It was described as "Coming To America meets Pretty Woman" which is two of my all time favourite movies, so I had high hopes for this one. But unfortunately I was disappointed. I didn't necessarily hate it, but the story fell flat a lot of times for me, I couldn't really connect to any of the characters and I just didn't really feel the chemistry between Serena and Shai. However, I did really love to see these cultural differences and how they handle the challenges that come with it. And the sexy scenes were pretty steamy!
