man this series was a JOURNEY. lake meets manning when she’s 16 and he’s 23, she’s convinced from the moment she lays eyes on him that he’s the one. unfortunately, there’s always something in the way of them being together, whether it’s her age, her older sister, long distance, etc. this series follows lake & manning’s turbulent relationship over many years.

it’s clear from the beginning of the first book what the ultimate end goal is, but we do not get there easily folks. this is a story about two people who never stop fighting for each other no matter how many years have passed, and at times it seems impossible that they’ll ever find their happily ever after.

did i find myself constantly thinking “oh my god what else could possibly go wrong!?!?” at least 13 times? yes. was it all worth it in the end? absolutely.

if you want an epic love story that will make your heart ache but also make you believe in soulmates (and you don’t mind having patience) i highly recommend this series!
