Normal single people watch gameshows about couples. Melissa applies to be on one. Melissa I take dares very seriously thank-you-very-much. And when my bestie dares me to apply for The Love Trials, I can’t say no. It’s a show where couples fight it out in a series of challenges to be crowned King and Queen and awarded £100,000. But there’s no way I’d be chosen. I’m missing one teeny-tiny detail: a heart-throb boyfriend. Unless the producers have a crazy idea to throw a pair of strangers together and plant a fake couple in the mix, I’m absolutely not going to be on the show. So, that would never happen, right? Wrong. Love Me in the Spotlight is a romantic comedy set in a Scottish castle, following two perfect strangers as they compete in a game show to convince the other couples - and the British public - that they’re the real deal.
