If it sounds like a sob story, it isn't. Of course, it isn't ideal to have your mother all but disappear. It certainly didnt feel good to be on the receiving end of that choice. But, when I look back now, I think my mother did me a favor exiting the way she did-without apology, without vacillation. At least she made it clear: There was nothing I could have done to make her want to stay.

And I know if there is ever a moment I could vomit all over the place, it's now. Which is what I do.

A Novel

I feel like this book was really underwhelming in every sense. Considering it’s in only one persons POV it starts getting really repetitive. There’s no tension that I’d expect for a mystery book to keep me on edge and I think every detail they revealed was just tossed and then moved on from so quickly.

I wasn’t impressed with this book and after reading some of the reviews, I’m glad I’m not alone. The beginning was interesting and I wanted to know why Owen ran but then as the story started to unfold, it didn’t really capture my attention anymore.

Very 3/10 Mystery book.
The entire plot seemed very basic to me. It was as if the author had followed a particular formula to write a mystery. 
Plus the choice of narrator was really bad. It would’ve been a better novel if it had dual or multiple narrators or just someone else. It didn’t seem like the narrator was that important of a character in the entire book. A third person could be the narrator and it would still feel the same.
The plot is very basic as i said earlier. First a person goes missing and the secrets start to unravel quite easily and there is no suspense. Though the ending wasn’t that bad. 
I think you could read this if you don’t wanna read something heavy

It started out a bit slow for me, but by halfway thru, I was hooked and had to know how it ended.

I wouldn't call this book a thriller. It would fit more in Drama genre.

I don’t know how to say the right thing about it but I really expected SO much more… Like… Please…? This book was talked in almost everywhere and even got movie adaptation but I don’t know :( maybe it just doesn’t really close to home.

It’s more like a suspense family drama since I didn’t find any detective evidence or such that for me personally are SO crucial in many particular thriller books. Nontheless, if you want to a heartfelt story to find your father and the faith of mother connection, this book is really for you. Still worth to read but maybe I wouldn’t talk about it that often!

This booked got my attention from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down buttt the ending was so underwhelming. Still a good read but it started off so good and then I had to slug through the ending.

The concept of this story is great and at some parts it really drew me in but overall it was disappointing. I found it really slow to get in to the twists and turns and the ending was a bit underwhelming. The story of Owen felt unfinished.

A quick read. It's quite a fast paced book, I'm not a fan of the characters. Hannah seems to have a bit of a Dunning-Kruger syndrome and the others are flat.

This book was great!!!! The plot was great and i loved how new characters entered the story. Now Gary the US Marshall got on my last nerves like…. we don’t want you here, i knew he was off from the beginning but anyhow…. if there is another book that goes with this story plz lmk because we need to know how their life went on afterward. It would have been nice, however, to here some of Owen’s perspectives so that the backstories would align and be more interesting. Also, i might’ve missed it in the book, but what happened to Owen like people said that he died but i didn’t read that part idk but the book was good and would definitely recommend!

It was just okay, fast read, entertaining but wouldn’t necessarily recommend.

Was hooked through 5/6ths of the book but the ending… I just couldn’t get behind. Last bit felt a little all over the place.
