A very different feel than the other books. It's certainly the saddest.

A very solid and bittersweet ending to a special series! Definitely not my favorite of the little house books, but it had many fun moments of charm and peril. It felt like a collection of short stories throughout the first four years, but I’m very glad they published the unfinished manuscript. I now want to learn more about their daughter, rose, and her story!

As beloved as many find Little House on the Prairie books, I could not muster up any more interest in this book. It felt like I read a diary that attempted to poorly impersonate a novel. The book lacked the typical plot structure and any sort of driving interest. I finished simply because the book had only 144 pages and I could read it quickly.
