I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Ulrich takes the phrase from a scholarly article in the 1970s that through the actions of others because a rallying cry and turns it into a book. She analyzes all sorts of aspects of women's history that gives equal treatment to all involved in the story and stays true to the facts of the story. This sort of well-written, well-researched historiography should be required of every single work of history, not just the ones written by fantastic female historians like Ulrich.

I highly recommend this book.
