Selena was on her way home when she stopped to help a hitchhiker. All she focused on was his smirk, not realizing the danger she was letting in her life.

"Shh, rabbit. When I eat you, I want to devour all of you. Prey doesn't question how they're being eaten, they just let the predator get its fill."

I have read other books by this author and never rated them over 2 stars. But third time's the charm, or so I thought. The first half of the book had me so engrossed and glued to the story. Lex was a character I needed to know more of. And I was equally intrigued by Selena and wanting to get to know her more and how she'd navigate being in close proximity with a k!ller.

Everything was going great, but once I hit the 45% mark, things shifted. The story could have easily ended earlier, because the second half of the book felt like filler chapters to me. Was it still hot? Absolutely! But other than the spicy scenes, I didn't care for the rest of the story, and I stopped caring for the characters. The excitement and thrill from the first half of the book didn't transfer to the second half. Still, it was an entertaining read for at least half of the story.
