I didnt like this book. fist of all, THEY ARE RELATED, second of all, i feel like this book is just dragging the story and our love for the characters downhill... Out of all the books, i enjoyed reckless the most and fearless the least.

A LOT of twists and turns. It seems like the things that were most concerning to me were not as concerning to anyone else (they’re literally related and no one was worried about that). It kind of felt like over compensation. And then after all the plot twists, it kept going … and going … like I should’ve just stopped while I was ahead. I guess the only good thing is that most loose ends were tied up (but why tf keep Blair alive?????)

Overall an easy read, but the story still didn’t feel original. The trials weren’t that interesting, some of the plot was predictable. The only reason why I was finding this series good was the banter between paedyn and kai, but that started feeling repetitive and boring. Kitt didn’t deserve that ending and honestly the ending felt sloppy. I don’t know how they moved on from everything within 2 days..

So overall after finishing the trilogy I think I may have outgrown this series. I really enjoyed the first book when I read it. The second book though did feel like a waste of time.  This last book had its good parts and then its not so good parts. I think it could have benefited maybe even just being a duet by combining book one and two and I think I could have liked it a lot more. I even tried to get invested with Kai like a lot of other people have been, but he just felt like most other male main characters in books, to me he just didn’t do anything to really stick out. So that’s where I know this series just wasn’t for me anymore. What is also bad is that I felt more investment still with Adena and Mak because when they were brought up was the only time I felt any time of emotional connection to the series. They were done so wrong and I think I’m still upset about it. The ending is what you would think would happen, I just think it was extended just a bit too much, but again I may not be the right person to ask if you should read this since I haven’t loved it as much as other people have.

i did really enjoy however rated it slightly lower as i found the first part a bit hard to get into after loving the first two so much. it did pick up though and the ending was touching!

Usually when I read trilogies I always like the first one the best and the last one the least, but for me it was the opposite with this series. I LOVED fearless, the last 100 pages and the perspective of Edric made this book absolutely mind blowing. The twists just kept coming and coming and my jaw was on the floor the whole time. I also loved how, as the reader, you really had to put all the pieces together yourself before it was outright stated at the end. But for me, I think that the additional 3 trials were so simplistic when they shouldn't have been compared to the first. Theoretically, these trials were so hard that no one had ever completed them before and you're telling me she just stumbled across the grave in 1 day and made it back in time, and 1 little spear took down the massive sea monster. Not only that but the fact that Kitt allowed Kai to go across the shallows when the whole point of the trials was to kill Paedyn. I also really wish we understood more about queen Zailah, what happened to Callum's daughter Mira, and Lenny's family and the others back in Dor. Overall though, I could not tear my eyes away from this book and I think it has one of the most memorable endings.

The book had some decent twists throughout which could be shocking to some people if you don’t pay attention to the earlier books and chapters. I don’t like the ending they gave kitt, it felt rushed and sloppy.

I enjoyed reckless but did not like powerless much, so this was I think my most anticipated toss up of the year: would I like it or really not like it?? the answer is that it was fine. as with both the prior books, I found myself rolling my eyes a bit at the poor dialogue and screaming at my book saying whyyyy would you do that, but unless I’m reckless, where that had a very campy charm and hooked me in, this one felt more like powerless where I was just frustrated a bit. this isn’t awful! it’s just not great. I’m glad I read it, but I’m glad it’s done!

It's been a good couple weeks and I am still processing my thoughts because I feel literally starstruck by this book so bear with me on this one :)

my expectations for this book were veryyyy low because of how much i disliked reckless. i will say i did enjoy it to some extent. i definitely liked it more than reckless but it was still lacking in some ways. one my main problems with this series is the romance. i feel like it doesn’t really grow or develop in any way. it has been mostly the same since book 1. don’t get me wrong, i still found some of their moments sweet but i feel like we’ve just seen the same things from this couple throughout the whole series. it just feels so repetitive so it got boring after a while. the repetitive writing alone is enough for me drop the rating. next, the pacing bothered me a lot. at times, i would be flying through this book then it would start dragging and i’d wish that it would just move along. we would get “plot twist” after plot twist sometimes that it just didn’t make any sense.  you would barley have time to digest it then you would get the next one. some of these “plot twists” were pretty predictable from the beginning. others just didn’t make sense at all. it felt like she just pulled them out of her ass and i feel like they were written solely for shock value. lastly is the incest plot… i don’t have much to say about it because it pissed me off so bad. overall, i think lauren roberts really has potential to write good books but unfortunately this series didn’t do it for me.
