What a wonderful idea, and a great way to discover new-to-me authors, like Lauren Rowe! I love me some new adult romance, so Misadventures of a College Girl was nearly at the top of my Misadventures TBR. Once I saw it was available through my library on Hoopla, I made time to dive right in. It was a fun and sexy romp, and it was not without a bit of emotion, too. If I'm being totally honest, when I started this book, I wasn't sure it was going to work for me. Zooey was an odd mix of naive and promiscuous and Tyler appeared to be the type of arrogant, manwhore hero that doesn't really work for me. But, it was a short audiobook and I was interested in seeing where the story went, so I kept listening. I'm really glad I did, too, because I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the story here. Before it was all said and done, I'd seen another side of both Zooey and Tyler and I was shamelessly shipping them, hoping they could be something more than short-term friends with benefits. I'm not going to say much more about the story because of spoilers, but I just love how everything came together for them. And possibly even more, I loved how both characters grew throughout this novella. Their romance was super sweet, delivering the laughs I wanted, the sexy times I expected and a fair few feels, too. Since I'm reviewing the audiobook, I should probably note that Lauren read it herself. I've always been a bit skeptical of authors reading their own books when said book is fiction, but it worked for me. I think she did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. Color me impressed. FAVORITE QUOTES “You’re the answer to a prayer I didn’t even know I had.”
