This trilogy (although incomplete at the moment) is quickly becoming one if my favorites. This installment, part 2, begins were the first on ends, which was a relief following that cliffhanger.
Like most second books, this one has more information and character development over fast paced action. However, it isn't boring or overall wordy.
McKee brought in some new characters that really added well to the story. There were even a few twists in the story, that kept the book moving forward. Once, again McKee ended on a cliffhanger and I am (not so patiently) waiting for the last installment coming November 7th.

I received this book for my honest and unbiased opinion.
This book is fantastic the second pt to the see where we found out that she has a mother that has found a cure not a 100% but 60% it's a shock to find her mother but then to learn that her father is the one that is killing children to prolong the life of those without the o negative blood type was to kill her kill the people that she loves but she is not going to stop until she stops him... All in book three which I hope is sooner rather than later

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. 

I have very mixed feelings about this book. There are aspects I absolutely loved and things that simply don't sit well with me. 

This is a very action packed book. It's always alert and quite tensionate and I loved this about it. I'm not necessarily a big fan on long, detailed descriptions so I actually found myself enjoying this. 

This book won't bore you. Truly. Apart from its obvious flaws that I will list down below, this book was very very enjoyable. It may not be the smartest well thought dystopia work out there, but I really enjoyed reading it. 

Now, its flaws... Well. I think the biggest flaw of this book was its lack of originality. It was not original in the least. Now, I was a great fan of dystopia when it became popular. I watched numerous movies, read several books because I was simply obsessed. So it's very hard to find something really original in a dystopia. But this was totally a let down. There was no big revelation. Nothing I haven't read before. It was a tamer version of Never let me go meets Eve meets Shatter me. I've read all this before. While I do understand that it's hard to be original at this point, it still bothered me a lot. Truly. 

Second of all, the writing was just so good sometimes. There are some quotes that are so well drawn out that I'm still speechless about them. 

"They say curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back "
" Hope is a cruel emotion. It makes you cling to it, even tough the logical part of your brain rebels against it, tells you it's impossible. "
" I am too many things and suddenly I am nothing " 

But the main character was poorly written. Yes, I do understand she's innocent and all, but she made no sense as a character. She was simply unrealistic. And the dialogue was so unnatural I simply cringe. 
"Why would she go to all this to get me back? I don't understand, it's been fifteen years. She doesn't even know me. How could I help you? I'm nobody " 
I can't imagine anyone saying this in real life without seeming completely foolish. Maybe it's just me. 

Throughout the whole book, although it being enjoyable, I was never convinced of the accuracy of the events. Yes, I know fiction is not real, but it's made to at least SEEM real. This book didn't convince me in the least. 

Although this was hinted as a dystopia romance, there was no romance. There were some hints at some point, but nothing really romantic. 

I know this is only a part of the actual book, and while I would like to read the whole thing, this one just didn't do too much for me.
