This book explores the idea of a true leader and the reasons why people follow their visions. It talks about our needs as human beings and our instinctive behaviors. It shows you why we do what we do at a management level and how we can increase our influence in our teams. It has a lot of history in certain parts that seems not too necessary but the overall concept is pretty interesting if you want to learn about leading people successfully.

 quickly became a must-read for any serious leader. Leaders Eat Last is equally impactful and insightful, but the challenge for leaders is even bigger than with author’s previous book. 

 was mainly about inspiring through an actionable vision, a task so many executives have tried with varying degrees of success. Leaders Eat Last unravels the mysteries behind why some teams succeed in overcoming obstacles together when some other teams are doomed to individual and collective failure. The answers will seem counterintuitive to many executives. Simon Sinek discovered great leaders sacrifice their own comfort to put organization needs above theirs, focusing on human relations using trust, integrity, friendship, and empowerment.  The argument really starts with the second part of the book, which I found fascinating. Simon Sinek uses our hormones – endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin – to help us understand how different we are from other species by our ability (and need) to cooperate and work together. Armed with this background, Simon Sinek continues the development of his argumentation with true stories that range from the military to big businesses. Ideas are maybe not totally new, they are presented in a well-written book, which I recommend to any managers, leaders, executives, or any employee whose motivation is lowering. This is the kind of book that will inspire leaders to act differently, and more importantly, inspire non-leaders to become ones. As the author is saying, “Let us all be the leaders we wish we had.”

This is a book to read from time to time to refresh you mind about why we need Leadership and how this affects our life.

When I came to this book, I know exactly why people would love to be leaders. This book added to me, why we people might need Leaders and how much this is vital for businesses and countries.

That chapter about the four hormones affecting us and helping us to be happy is extra-ordinary and very well written. 

I will revisit this book again indeed

Save yourself the time. Watched Sinek's TED talk and was excited to read this book. Turns out, the book is mainly an elaboration of his main idea of the importance of leaders making their subordinates feel safe in order for the organisation to perform better. Regardless, it was still an enjoyable read with various anecdotes though nothing groundbreaking from his main idea of "why good leaders make you feel safe".

I found this book to be pretty good. The author's message was clear, and the chapters were split quite nicely. They flowed well, and it didn't feel like a slog to read. I found the book gave a great message, and it makes one reflect on how they should lead (regardless of the situation).

This book is OK, but not ground breaking. Summarised in one sentence it's: "Look after your people and they will look after your company." but Sinek uses a bookload more words to repeat the same thing many times. 

He does go into some detail about why the world is in such a state (hint: because if the baby boomers) and explains how we got here, which is interesting.
