(3/5) Audiobook - 2 hours 27 minutes - I didn't expect to like this book that much at all, and in all fairness, I didn't love it, but it did exceed my expectations. While I found David a little annoying at first, his character grew on me. The writing style was a little bit too simplistic in places but overall I didn't mind this too much. However, this whole story feels a little antiquated and out of touch. The teenagers don't feel like modern teenagers. If it wasn't for the mentions of mobile phones and the like, I would completely believe this story was set in a completely different decade. In fact, the mention of modern life sort of ruined my immersion in the story - if the author had picked a different time frame, one he was more knowledgeable about, I feel like I would have enjoyed the book more.
