This was a absolutely heart reaching and horrifying book. I had never heard of the Rwandan Genocide before reading this and it needs to be taught more as it is just as important the Holocaust. 
I’m personally not religious but I found the way she connected with god to be miraculous. I don’t necessarily believe that she actually saw god, but all that matters is that she used it to gather the strength to survive. I can’t imagine being in her situation.

Oh this was a horrible horrible tragedy. She was lucky and at the same time very unlucky. But someone else really needed to tell her story. It is so full of religious grandstanding that I found myself being skeptical. I'm glad for her that she has something to lean on. But if I could go back in time I would not read about it.

           Immaculée llibagiza is gonna be a saint! She will be the saint of Rawanda. I am amazed by her courage and her trust in God. I what to have that much faith in God.
