Last book of the year...

I picked this up at the hospital during the birth of my daughter. My wife was resting after 40 hours of labor (baby arrived after 45!), so I wandered down to the lobby to wait for a friend who was bringing food. This was the only book there that looked half readable.

This is an absurd book. Lots of ridiculous, corny romance novel stuff and adventure novel stuff mixed with horrific descriptions of pogroms and the Shoah. Of course, I'm a sentimental Zionist who grew up reading WW2 action novels, so I enjoyed the whole thing.
