Collection of Australian poems chosen to reflect the poetic tradition from the early days of European settlement to the present day. Included are poets such as Kendall, Lawson, Paterson, Mackellar, Hope, Porter, Harwood and poems in the Aborginial oral tradition. Twenty-six new poets such as Jack Davis, Kate Jennings and John A Scott have also been included to reflect the new generation of writers. Includes an index of first lines as well as authors and titles.
