*Be aware that this review may contain spoilers* *Trigger Warnings: Blood, Abuse, Slave Trade, Murder I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into with this story. But after I saw quite a few romance booktubers rave about this one here, and I don't see too many dark themed romances that delve into the paranormal genre and man this world was so addicting and the writing is deeply sensual and even though there was some slower pace moments, I couldn't seem to get enough of what is going on here. There were so many untold mysteries that will lead me to continue with this series and seeing how this world develops especially loved the "bromance" that is built within the story. And I just can't wait to see what happens with our hero's "adoptive father figure" in the story and hope we get a happy end there. Definitely an intriguing story that left me yearning for me and seeing this series grow. This book does deal with darker themes of a heroine who is a slave and even though the hero is working on breaking the "conditioning" of it (which I loved) it takes time for her to come into her own identity and figure out what she is capable of. I am really fascinated by this world building and seeing the beginnings of finding a better way of what has happened to this futuristic world. Deeply sensual and a romance that is worth fighting for.

I had not read a book about vampires in such a long time and I gotta say, that was fun. Definitely like the world building and all the political maneuvering going on. (plus, the spice was a great as well lmao) Excited to eventually get to the rest!
