Human vampire hunter meets charming vampire king and questions some of her beliefs. Teamwork makes the dreamwork to defeat some rogue and violent vampires. Love it. The characters just seemed a little flat to me though. Connor was fairly developed but Annika was kind of all over the place. I also found some of the dialogue to be a little stilted. Connor speaking in an old-fashioned way makes sense. But some of Annika's dialogue felt very out of place. Their relationship also felt like it lacked real depth. I would've liked to see them banter a little more to show how their feelings grew. It felt like they basically just thought the other one was hot and that's it. Overall though, it was fun and quick read. I'd definitely have liked this as a little Winter Holiday vacation read (alas, I read it in the dead of summer!)

Sweet and slow burn Short Christmas story with vampires throw into it. A hunter who see vampires black and white but she learn it a lot of gray when the king show her not all vampires are evil or bad. They join together to protect her home when a vampire nest breaks the Kings rules.

This was a fun quick read. Once you start it is hard to stop and thankfully it is short enough that you can finish it in one sitting. The characters and the plot surely did not disappoint. Do you enjoy enemies to lovers? forbidden romance? slow burn? Than this book is the one for you! At times I did find Annika a bit frustrating but the storyline definitely makes up for it.
