Had it not been for my online book club, I wouldn't have even heard of this book. Yay for book clubs! This book was genuinely fascinating. Many of the "stories" in this book were completely new knowledge for me and I'm so glad I got the chance to read it. MacQuarrie's writing is engaging, not at all as dry as one expects from many non-fiction works. 
 Now if you'll excuse me...I'm going to book a stay in a hotel on a river raft...
