Very silly to pick up a book written by Eve’s biographer and expect no bias towards one of the writers. However the title misleads you into thinking it’s gonna be an equally unbiased retelling of the artists’ relationship with each other. Very hard to read author’s opinion on every Joan misstep including the direct confession of dislike of her latest work and her attempt to maintain an image she created decades ago, branding, that would be praised by pr firms and publicists nowadays. At the same time this personal opinion and criticism seems to be lacking towards Eve’s missteps, it’s always getting excused by something and put through dry journalistic statements of a fact. She seems unhappy about the fact that Eve needed Joan’s name in order to get her first novel to be successful yet who’s name is plastered first in the title of this one
