I definitely enjoyed this book and seeing the development of Veralie and Jaren’s relationship (plus the smutty scenes), but I also feel like not a whole lot happened in this book? It brought up way more questions than it answered (it answered like half a question honestly and gave me 3 dozen more) and honestly it read more like the first half of a book rather than a complete book. There was no conflict, the whole book was just moving pieces into position which was weird. The villains I will say are interesting, particularly Eithan, as he has become much more fully realized in this book. I am going to keep reading the series mainly because I hate having so many unanswered questions because almost everything is an unknown at this point.
