Triple-Duty Bodyguards A Military Reverse Harem Romance

Lily Gold2021
One celebrity diva in trouble. Three overprotective bodyguards determined to keep her safe. As one of the world’s most hated celebrities, I’m used to unwanted attention. But when I wake up one morning to find a mysterious man has broken into my house, I know I need security, fast. Enter “The Angels”, my three ex-military bodyguards: Glen, the Scottish sweetheart with the scarred face and gentle hands. Kenta, the long-haired soldier with the tattooed skin and secretive smile. And Matt, the blue-eyed, bad-tempered leader haunted by his military past. Having three gorgeous men guarding me 24-7 sounds like a dream come true, but it turns out to be a nightmare. They’re always here, watching me. Caring for me. Protecting me. They tell me to ignore them and go about my business, but I can’t even think with them so close. The spark is too intense. On top of that, we don’t get on. They think I’m a demanding diva. I think they’re overdramatic. When a trip to America sends the guys’ protective instincts into overdrive, the sizzling tension between us finally breaks, and I learn my bodyguards’ butterfly-inducing secret: they want me. All three of them. Meanwhile, my stalker’s behaviour is becoming more and more alarming. He’s photographing me through windows and following me in the shadows. With the premiere for my next movie coming up, will my three bodyguards be able to keep me safe from his clutches? Or will my terrifying pursuer finally get his deadly way?

why was this so cute and emotional like it kind of read like a fic at times but the commentary about ptsd? the military? what it means to be a woman in society? was not expecting that much depth honestly the men were so lovely and kings of consent?? you love to see it. all too often, rh books feel too...kinky with not enough love and consent and it puts me off but this was very sweet and emotional and the fmc was great with her being so blunt and bold and caring like not just a bland mc for people to project onto, loved it

This isn’t high on my list of favourites. I was more than a little disappointed by it, considering the two books I’ve read by Lily so far, I’ve rather enjoyed. I do wish she would read different characters. Her men are all the same. No switch up to it at all.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Tropes: RH, grumpy X sunshine, guy falls first, touch her and die, close proximity, body guard X celebrity

I think I’m in my RH era. These men leave nothing to crave with their absolute adoration for her and desire to bring her joy. Whenever she wants 🥵 All the passion added with the excitement of the body guard aspect and why they met in the first place is just a fun, hot read.

If you’re looking to try a RH out I think this is a safe bet. Everything is very consensual and feels sacred between the partners. It’s a sweet RH in comparison to some of the darker worlds out there.

I’m excited to read more Lily Gold!

That star is only because of Matt, he is the sole reason I kept reading this book. He is perfect.

I loved the characters. They're nice, and so incredibly loving.

X was traumatising.

"the archer" by taylor swift - this is blair's song!!! “He deserved it. If he wants to send me pictures of his Twinkie, he should be prepared for me to review it. Not my fault it’s a one-star.” "I’m strongest when no one likes me. I’m safest when I’m being a bitch.” 3.5 🌟 blair gave such QUEEN BEHAVIOR!! okay this might be presumptuous of me to say since this is my first reverse harem novel, but their relationship seems to be one of the healthiest! no toxic possessiveness, no petty jealousy, and no real arguments within the relationship!! they all just love her and it was great

Halfway through the book I posted a status update, saying “this reads like a bag of chips eats” and this kept being true for the rest of the book. Super easy read with a sassy female MC that keeps her boys in check and three intriguing love interests. I flew through the pages, and it was over much more quickly than I realised and that is basically the only point of critique I’d have: It was a bit too shallow, too surface-level for my taste. I enjoy deeply crafted characters with thorough backstories and many glimpses behind a curtain that’s mostly drawn for everyone else. The most mysterious here was Matt and even that was a bit too … superficial. I know, not everyone needs the big trauma story in every read, but it felt like a very light read this way, that just scratched at the potential it might have had.

I enjoyed the read, I chuckled quite a few times and I’m definitely considering picking a Lily Gold book up again in the future – maybe just not right away.

This was probably one of my favorite KU reads in terms of having a plot and character relationships that were interesting outside of just smut. It was also really interesting to read about the dynamics between people all suffering from their own anxiety and PTSD and not everything being magically solved just because everyone ends up together.

4.5 ⭐️. I really enjoyed their being some serious tones in a contemporary romance. I think it’s not a very common find. I loved the stalker storyline, including getting some POV from the stalker. It made me feel a bit of dread and nervousness, which I loved! My only real complaint is that I feel like we didn’t get to know the characters enough. I wish we could’ve seen more of who they are and important things about them, but with so much going on in the book I understand why that didn’t happen. The spice was great. The characters were great, they had some realness to them. Really enjoyed the whole book!

Cute! It had similar elements as Faking with Benefits by the same author, but I was fine with it because they were done well.

Almost dropped it because the start seems slow and predictable but was glad I stuck it out, the character development and suspense saves the book honestly.

I did enjoy this book but it just felt like a stepping stone whilst I found something else to read. I just didn't feel that connected to the characters stories and that may just be me because they all had emotional backgrounds but I felt like because of that I wasn't fully invested in the story, I liked the plot line and some of the scenes I particularly enjoyed but I probably would not read it again unfortunately.

“Me loving you is not dependent on you ‘getting better’. It never was. I didn’t want you to go to therapy for me, dipshit. I wanted it for you.” I lift my hand, running my fingers over his stubbly cheek. “Because I want you to be happy. You deserve happiness. You deserve love. And,” I press my lips to his neck, feeling his pulse thrum under his skin, “you deserve a really hot, talented, smart wife. So gimme the ring, please.”

He takes a deep breath, letting it gust out of him. “You’re sure you want me?”

“Jesus, Matt. Yes. Forever.”

The last syllable hasn’t even left my lips before he pulls me into a kiss. I sigh, melting under him as he holds me close, his hot tongue swirling against mine. ”

“A smile spreads over my face. “I love you, too.”

He swallows thickly. “So much,” he repeats.

“And… that makes you nervous? Have I told you recently that you’re the most emotionally constipated man I’ve ever met?”

“Yes,” he says. “I just...” he looks down at our joined hands. “I don't want to screw this up.”

“Screw what up?”

He hesitates, then shows me the object in his other hand. My mouth drops open. It’s a ring box covered in black velvet. As I watch, he flips it open with his thumb, revealing a silver ring, inset with a square-shaped white stone that glitters in the sunlight.

It’s beautiful. Absolutely stunning. I swallow. “Matt…”

“The guys are going to kill me for giving this to you now,” he mutters. ”

“Briar.” His voice is a low rasp.

I tilt my lips up to him. “Matt.”

“I’m so glad you’re okay.”

“Me too,” I whisper.”

I love them too together. The book would have been way better if it had been just the two of them.

“That bad?” She says quietly.

I grunt, winding my hands in her soft hair. “Don’t leave me like that.”

She stiffens in surprise. I clear my throat. “I mean. Just. Please don’t leave the building without me.”

“I've never…” He shakes his head. “A bit of me wouldn’t have died, if you went. I just wouldn’t exist anymore. I’d—I’d be done. It would all just go dark. I wouldn’t come back from it.”

“Mm.” I run a finger up the front of his shirt. “I love you, too.”

“He looks down at our joined hands. His throat jumps. “I love her,” he says suddenly.

“I noticed.”

His fingers tighten on mine, gripping me hard, and my heart just about breaks.”

Matt is my favorite. Love Kenta and Matt's friendship.

“She rolls her eyes. “Oh, come back to bed, you little dipshit,” she mutters, trying to tug me back into her. “I’m not done hugging you yet. Here.” She takes my hand and slides it up to her breasts. “Touch my tits, that will make you feel loads better.”

“You’re so beautiful,” I rough out. “I don’t think you understand how beautiful.”

“Of course I understand, I own a mirror. I’m hot as shit.” Matt snorts softly in the background. “I’m not the deluded one, here.”

“G-go on, then,” I prompt. “Touch me.”

The room splashes with white light again. Matt’s face illuminates, and my mouth falls open. He looks stunning like this, with the sharp contours of his face drawn starkly in light and shadow.

He looks me dead in the eye. “No. I don’t think I will.”

“Anger snaps through me. “Oh, for God’s sake,” I mutter, stomping forward. “Can I have a hug?”

He blinks, freezing. “What?”

“A hug. I doubt you’ve been given many in your life, but I’m sure you’ve heard of the concept. I want one.”

He bristles. “I don’t need—”

“This isn’t about you, it’s about me. You’re right. Seeing you have a nightmare was so traumatic I need comforting. So do it.”

“It wasn’t a lingerie shot. It was a picture of you on the beach, wearing a white t-shirt and this ridiculous, huge floppy hat. You were holding an ice cream and smiling at the camera, and… I don’t know. You were so beautiful. And it was so ugly down there. Some guys had girlfriends, or kids, or families that they were fighting for, but I didn’t have any of that shit. But I could look at that picture of you and remember that beautiful things still existed in the world. Sunshine, and ice cream, and happy girls on beaches wearing floppy hats. It reminded me that that’s what I was putting myself through Hell for. So that stuff could still exist.”

I turn to Matt and smile at him as sweetly as I can. “Makeover time.”

Hopefully, the look of horror in his eyes will make up for the rest of my shitty day.
