Shadow Guild: Hades & Persephone Book 1

I absolutely loved this book! I have always been a fan of Greek mythology, and to see a modern spin on the classic Hades & Persephone tale is enchanting. When I was reading the Shadow Guild novels, I was curious about Seraphia and her life because she intrigued me. It must be jealousy because she has the glamourous job of working in a library lol! All in all, I think this was an amazing start to Seraphia's story. The characters were incredible, and I loved the addition to the Guild City that Linsey has painted. I cannot wait for book two!!

Ok let's discuss my thoughts on this. The characters were really well thought out, and have great character arcs and internal conflicts. The chemistry between the two of them is really good, but also not enough. I think the second book is going to really deliver on the sexual tension and we might get some intense sex scenes. This is my first book I have read from Linsey Hall, and I know this is a spinoff series from a much larger work, but I wasn't about to read a ton of other books just to get some background info that was essentially provided by the author anyways. However, I do admit that I'm sure my appreciation of this book would probably be higher if I had read the rest of the books set in this world. I really was surprised by how well written this was considering I've read a lot of fantasy romances lately that I thought this would be like, and they fell pretty short, but Infernal was a step above the rest. I think this had the capacity to be a five star read for me, but fell a little short. I have a feeling as we get more of a resolution regarding the romance in future books that they could be 5 stars. The one thing I hated about this book was that they included both Hades and Lucifer, but kept referring to Hades as a "fallen angel" which is more in line with Lucifer, and they kept referring to Hades domain which is the Underworld as "Hell" which I theoretically believe Lucifer is in charge of, but is just hanging out with Hades for a bit. So I felt like there was some serious issues on the mythology that the author was using. It really bothered me. Other than that though it was great and I suggest people give it a try.
