Carrow and the Devil are back in the second installment of the Shadow Guild series. Carrow is just now starting to settle down in her new life at the Guild City. She finally has friends and a place where she feels like she could fit in. However, that feeling of freedom is short-lived when the Council of Guilds is out to get her because of her ever-growing powers. Now, Carrow has to literally make a deal with the Devil to save her own skin. This book is fast-paced and kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire ride. I absolutely loved getting another taste of Carrow and I am anxiously waiting for book three!!

I am enjoying this series, and since I know of a couple spoilers because I read the spinoff Hades and Persephone series first I keep waiting for certain things to happen. I am enjoying the romance, but its a bit slow for my liking. However, I think it makes sense for it to be a bit of a slower romance given the cursed mates plot. I'm not sure if I like the fact that Carrow is super powerful, but I'm interested in seeing where that plot goes. Overall, the characters are pretty good, the atmosphere is really good, the plot is intriguing but also pretty average, and the romance is good but slow-burn.
