Lioness Rampant Song of the Lioness: Book 4
Reviews

My favorite installment of the Series! I wish I had come across this series in my youth. It’s such a good starter Fantasy series for Middle Schoolers who aren’t ready to jump into High Fantasy!

this book made me cry mid-way through it and after finishing it, but I was close to tears way more often than that. All the relationships between characters included so much honesty, respect and trust, it was all open communication and understanding, which is very rare in books and my own life, so I needed to read that, for healing purposes. As a bonus, none of the plot points were dragged out too long, a lot of empowered females and everyone got closure.

Overall, I'm glad I've read this series. It is completely different to the modern fantasy for younger readers, which tend to stick to a certain age group. This series started as middle grade, continued as young adult, and by the 4th book it could be considered a new adult. However, I did find the plot execution a bit underwhelming. Even though this book was longer than the previous instalments, some characters deserved a bit more attention in the way their respective archs developed and concluded. Some things were mentioned so briefly that I had to go back and re-read a paragraph to take in what happened.

I really liked the ending to this series. I loved seeing what happen to all he main characters and how it all ended.

4.5*

I did very much like the way this series wrapped up though I do think the final fight was over rather quickly and easily but then I think action scenes are not this series' strength, that lies in the characters. I am very happy with the very last scene though, it pleased me a lot.
