Ok so this is a kid’s book and unfortunately, you can kind of tell. 
While the plot and overall feeling of the book is really fun and engaging, it’s a frustrating read when trying to look for something new and unpredictable. The personalities of the characters are static, and each seem to be defined only by one trait and one trait only. 
Nevertheless, I recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy read reminiscent of Redwall (but make it New York)
