This book was... so many conflicting feelings. It covered so many themes - child abuse, PTSD, pedophilia. It was really well written but there were parts that hurt to read.
On the characters, overall I quite liked them! I think Charlene is such a complex and interesting character, and at first I assumed she was the younger sister in the prologue, (view spoiler)[while in reality she was the older sister! (hide spoiler)] I love DD Warren and her baby Jack and I love her relationship with Alex. There are a lot of narrators in this story, and all of them came together in such a cool way. (view spoiler)[When Ellen O started talking about pedophiles on the athletic animals website I realized with horror that poor Jesse was gonna be a target... Poor, poor Jesse. But also... 16 year old pedophiles???? Wot. (hide spoiler)] 
This time round I actually kind of guessed the antagonist right! (view spoiler)[I thought Ellen O seemed a bit too... enthusiastic about pursuing Charlie. And also she popped out of nowhere, and she does fit! I was kinda surprised though that Abigail's story went unfinished like this. (hide spoiler)] The ending made me a bit sad but overall I think it's an intriguing story, especially about Munchausen by proxy. I'm glad it ended the way it did. Tulip sounds adorable! And goodness me I'd love to win a Kill a Buddy sweepstake, honestly. A solid 8/10!

I have read many DD Warren novels at this point. This one could have been a five star for me but I didn't enjoy the background story of the "bad guy". Lisa Gardner's books are always a compulsive read for me, but the somewhat extraordinary method of how the bad guy got where she was took me out of the story a bit. I would still recommend but not my overall favorite.

I loved loved this book. I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Detective DD Warren and wish I could have read these books in order. 
This book constantly kept me guessing and I was shocked at the ending. Great read and I can't wait to read more!
