This was real change in genre from everything else I have read from this author so I delved right in. Nate Blaze, yes that's his real name, was handsome, happy and had a great life. But tragedy struck and fast forward a few years all he does is work and look after his adorable little girl, Harriet. but when Harriet's new teacher perks his interest, he's not sure if he is ready to take another stab at love. Jenna thought she had found love once. She was so naive but she finally distanced herself from her abusive ex. But being a cop he always seems to find her and she has had to cut all contact with her family to put him off the scent. But when her new friend, the owner of a coffee shop across from the fire station, points out Nate, her battered little heart starts to thump a little faster! Great mix of suspense and romance. Possible triggers for those who have suffered from domestic violence but otherwise a very well written and researched story! And not a drop of PNR anywhere!
