Murder Girl
Reviews

Actual review : 3.5 stars I received an ARC if this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Lisa Renee Jones! I loved Murder Notes. It was fast paced, and intriguing. Murder Girl was less so. It was slow, and I had trouble getting into it. The investigation was interesting, but I got frustrated when there were portions where not much was happening. What I have come to love from Jones’ books is the angst. It was so drawn out in this book that I no longer felt it. The plot is complex and well layered, but it felt like a set-up book, and leas like a sequel. Sometimes, I felt bombarded by information of family ties, past cases, and politics, which further caused me to lose interest. Despite that, I still fond Kane and Lilah to be interesting characters and I’d like to see how they grow and come along in the next books. The ending of this book seems to be a hood kick off point for a sequel, so we shall see!
