The novel is written in free verse poetry and follows Alice, a sixteen year old who is still grieving the loss of her mother. Alice's father has remarried and is having a new baby. A great book for students dealing with loss of experiencing a great change in their life. Will be as popular in my library as her other novels. Schroeder's books are wonderful for middle school girls who want to read free verse novels but need something with a little less edge than Hopkins.

Once again Lisa Schroeder has blown me away. Her words are like some type of intoxicating drug for me. Each one pushed me on further and further as I went on and it caused me to abandon any other thought. Lisa Schroeder has to be of my favourite authors EVER!
