Secluded Cabin Sleeps 6 offers a tense and atmospheric mystery set in a remote getaway. The suspense is palpable, and the characters are intriguing, but the novel's multiple viewpoints and shifting timelines can be overwhelming and sometimes detract from the overall impact. A solid read for fans of the genre, though it might not stand out as a must-read.

It sounds like for some reasers the twist came out of nowhere and was completely unexpected... This was not my experience. It seemed very, very obvious to me what would happen from quite early on. Which I don't mind in a book mystery, but it's worth mentioning.

After reading this book I not only immensely dislike the book, but I lack respect for its author as well. Ma'am you have got to get a better editor--check page 249 wtf is that. Also, a good editor would tell you that there is no good reason to use the world "fecund" three times in 50 pages, or the word "assignation" three times in another 50. The first time the word shows up, it's cool; an interesting and fun word choice. The second and third times, though, make it feel like you're writing for a teacher who insists you use your new vocabulary words so many times. It really takes you out of the story. Though I don't really know what I expected from a woman who named her daughter "Ocean Rae." 

Also why would you name the book's suicide and rape victim after the author of a book you used as research for this book?? So incredibly tasteless like what??? That is a real person and you said, you know what character would be great to honor them? Ah yes, the rape victim who kills herself. What is wrong with you!!!! 

Overall a disappointing read that did not make good on the tension and slow build. Gets two stars instead of one because I read it very quickly, making it technically a page-turner? At least it was over quickly, I guess.

This one started a bit slow for me, it took me a while to get into it but after the 50% mark I got really engrossed into the plot and twists, and the ending was quite satisfying!

           Hannah reluctantly agrees to go on a weekend getaway with her husband Bruce when her often over-the-top brother, Mako, rents a luxury cabin for their friends. Mako wants what he gets.

It will be Hannah and Bruce's first time away from their baby daughter. Hannah struggles a lot with the choice, but her mother-in-law is more than capable of babysitting.

As a result, they leave. Getting ready to unplug with Mako, sister-in-law Liza, Hannah's best friend Cricket, and her newly found beau, all they have never met before.

What could go wrong?

Overkill is the very definition of this book.

Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six has too many characters and multiple points of view, some unnecessary. As well as switching between the past and present, the timeline is also reversed. The characters are all clichés and lack depth.

 The storyline is too complicated, and some storylines never end. A particular story is a red herring that could have been erased.

This book has some good points: the plot has potential, and the cabin setting makes it creepier. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good, leaving me with a lot of sighing and rolling of the eyes.

Having said all of this, I can see how this may be enjoyable for some readers. It didn't work for me, but it might work for you. I recommend you give it a try if it sounds interesting. There's a good chance you'll love it.

This was definitely an entertaining read. I have been looking for a good slasher and I feel like with this I am definitely getting closer to finding it.

I found the jumping of point of views a bit confusing and unnecessary at times. The moments that were set in Henry’s point of view had me double checking to make sure I was still reading the same story since it didn’t make sense until much later on. There were definitely characters I wanted to root for and characters I most certainly didn’t.

I do have a lot of questions about Bracken, the owner of the cabin with what his motives were and what would happen with him. I felt like his part of the story possibly could’ve been left out altogether.

However, I loved the thriller aspect of it and actually would’ve loved for the action and eeriness of not knowing what’s lurking in the dark whilst being stranded in a cabin in the middle of nowhere to be dragged out further. 

I enjoyed how the main plots of the story were tied together at the end of the story. I would read this again.
