im a little shocked this got so many good reviews. i really hated this book lol. i don't know why it's so common right now to write a half assed, sex focused fantasy book rn but it's seriously exhausting. 

the premise behind the book was solid, i love assassin turned lover books (the bridge kingdom is one of my favs). but this book was so odd. tamar did not act like, or get treated as a queen at all. and im not even talking about the randos she has sex with, im talking about the political maneuvering, decision making, and communication she engaged in was not queenly at all. the plot is incredibly under developed. runo was incredibly boring. it moved so slowly, and half of the book was either their amazing sex, or how much they couldn't stop thinking about the amazing sex. 

im not a prude, I don't mind that kind of book, it's just not a good book lol.
