Really did not want to DNF this book… it had a lot of promise I thought. However I could not continue reading due to the fact that the main character is repeatedly referred to as ‘the girl’ and ‘the child’. While I understand she might be considered young by immortal age standards the fact that it was continuously brought up by every other character besides the love interest made me feel really uncomfortable. I could get over and through it in the first book knowing that there was a second book which I hoped would see dramatic personal growth, however I just couldn’t continue once reaching the second book. In the first 40 or so pages she is constantly refer to as a child and I just don’t think that connects well when the other part of the books title on Kindle is ‘A Steamy Fae Romance’. Gave me the ick so unfortunately I’ve had to leave the series on bad vibes.

I actually really liked this story.
But what I did not like at all was the formatting of the book. The quotation marks used were backwards. And sign language dialogue and the main character’s inner thoughts were both in italics so it was hard to tell which was which. These many seem like silly complaints but I almost gave up multiple times just for these two reasons.
Overall, it was a good second book of a fantasy series. I was entertained. The banter between Creon and Emelin is the best and them together is adorable.
