Reinke has written a wonderful book for any Christian that values learning. As a fan of reading I was already sold on the importance of reading. But Reinke does a great job of giving Biblical evidence to support his arguments in favor of reading. Scripture is held up as the most important reading endeavor, and is also defended as the only source for evaluating all other literature. A solid Biblical worldview is considered essential to reading all other forms of literature. Non-fiction and non-Christian books are encouraged, but only through the lens of a solid Biblical worldview. Reinke also gives plenty of tips for encouraging reading in yourself and your children, and also plenty of hints for reading in a manner that helps recall. I don't think anything in this book is going to surprise the avid Christian reader, but you'll find your passion defended with great skill and fervor.
