​Hello, lovelies! Let me tell you, this book is impactful. 

One thing I found interesting from the get-go was that you can take what Sadie has experienced and use it in your own situations. For example, Sadie tells readers about how she gets over fear of public speaking; she has to actually get up there and conquer her fear herself before God blesses her with the peace she asked for. But the cool thing is, that won’t always be the case - it depends on the situation you’re in. My personal example is when I was asked to speak for just a few minutes in front of probably a hundred people about a recent serving opportunity at my church. I was terrified, but I felt the call to say yes. So I did. I guarantee I practiced dozens of times, the same words over and over. My words. Not God’s. Right before I went up on stage, I felt my nerves start to jitter, my palms started to sweat, I couldn’t really breathe, and I asked God right there to give me the peace and the words I needed to say what He wanted me to say.

The common denominator in both mine and Sadie’s experiences was that we conquered something before the peace came. In Sadie’s case, she had to get up there and do it before God gave her peace - that was what she needed and what was best for her. It took the most courage for me to actually say yes to my youth director’s request for me to speak, and then I prayed for peace and received it when I needed it most - right before I went on stage. I asked Him to give me the words to say, and He swept away every word I spoke over and over while practicing. He gave me new words that were so much better.

I love love love the chapter on plankton. I adore it. So plankton are the tiniest creatures in the world, but they have such an important role - arguably the most important one. Without plankton, humans probably wouldn’t be able to survive. What’s even cooler is that plankton make this journey, this dangerous journey, from the darkness of the deepest waters to the sunlight at the surface of the ocean, over and over, every day, in order to complete their huge God-given responsibilities. And it’s not even for them; they do it for the rest of the world. That’s crazy. If plankton can have influence like that, influence that no one even knows about, I might add, then so can we.

The other major reason I loved that chapter was that the idea of “plankton” was just an inside joke for the Robertson family. Except I don’t believe in coincidences. I don’t believe that the random creature “plankton” was just thrown in as a joke and Sadie just happened to find amazing, spiritual things about them. Nope. God totally put it there. He put that joke there. Just like he put the plankton there. Everything in this world matters and shows us something of God’s character. From the joke in our conversations to the plankton in the bottom of the ocean, everything means something.

Like I said, this book is impactful, in so many more ways than the ones I just wrote about, I just couldn't list them all. You can apply Sadie’s wisdom to how God works through your life to create an amazing combination of insight into how God will speak to you. That’s something I have struggled with, and I’m already beginning to see how differently I see the world because I can both see and hear God in everything. And then, Sadie taught me some things on how much of a difference I can truly make, especially if I remember my God-given call to live fearless.
