It’s about how capitalism uses religion as a force of control against the most vulnerable in society and how it maintains that control through fear and gender expectations and economic control. 
It’s also absolutely brilliant. 

I HATED the start of it because of the use of language and I’m dyslexic and found it very frustration but I got to grips with it pretty quickly (than goodness for the line spacing geniuses) so don’t let it put you off. It’s worth it, I read it in an evening.
