A beautiful story about family, love, pain, betrayal, magic, tea, and bourbon. This book is a cozy fantasy with mystery rolled in. It's a gentle but firm reminder that forgetting your pain and sorrows is not the same as healing from them.

I saw this book floating around on different "must-read" lists for this season, so I decided to check it out. I liked the small-town setting and the magical realism elements. The premise sounded intriguing and made me want to know more about this town where people can lose their memories when they drink whiskey and this family with a magical garden. I also enjoyed the mystery and how it culminated into something I wasn't expecting. My only slight issue was that we follow a lot of different perspectives, and I had trouble remembering who was who in the beginning, but that may also have been because I was listening to the audiobook. Other than that, I liked it and think it'd be the perfect read for fans of Alice Hoffman or Sarah Addison Allen.
