I'm still not sure what I think about this book

In the start I found it interesting and I was fascinated by Aura's story and what she had went through growing up in a cult. The things that haunted her and how deep rooted her traumas were ingrained into her. 

The fact that she had been manipulated her entire life and just when she thought she had found a safe place, it was pure gaslighting by the same type of people she had tried to get away from. This only proves how much our patterns, trauma and childhood is ingrained into our belief system and mind

When Aura met Ruby she changed, she evolved and found the strength she thought she had lost. 

Ruby was a character I wish we got more of, she's always seen as the tough unbreakable girl, and although there were some moments where she became vulnerable and we saw another side to her, I still wish we got to know her on a deeper level

Somehow I found it difficult to connect with the characters and the amount of s*x scenes were a bit repetitive and to me slightly boring. I do see that those scenes seemed important since it helped Aura to break out of the system she had been in, however when there's almost just s*x I found it a bit lacking and too simple

Not much suprised me throughout the book, except for the part about Ruby's parents and Dom being Aura's biological father

The ending felt a bit rushed with the police suddenly coming into the picture and how Bethie changed even tho she had been portrayed as someone who had contributed hurting Aura. However I do see how she also was a victim in the cult and at the hands of Hawk

I really loved the tattoos, it was a beautiful way of regaining strength and trying to replace the pain with something new and healing

Good story overall, defo a bit darker than I expected but as a whole the erotic scenes were suspenseful. I did struggle with the flashbacks however, I’m my opinion they were confusing 🤷🏻‍♀️

** spoiler alert **
           DNF. It reads like awful fanfiction. I’m supposed to believe the connection between these two women in 30 pages all on their “vibe” alone? 

I’m glad there’s a trigger warning considering there are TWO rapes roughly 50ish pages in. I can look past some of the books I’ve read that are 20+ years old and were written in a time where the discussion regarding how rape shouldn’t be used as character development. But this came out last year. I’m not upset that the promised to be explicit book turned out to be just so, I’m upset that it’s a terrible character building choice.

Not to mention these two women are incredibly awful for each other, from what I thumbed through. The dialogue is full of gaslighting and toxicity.

So intrigued by the idea of each chapter being through someone else’s eyes, but nothing else sold this for me. Disappointed because I was so excited to read this one.

Have you ever thought "Wow, I wish I could find a dark toxic sapphic romance." Well this is the book for you. 

This book is DARK. Like, really dark, so if you dare to venture into this world, look up the trigger warnings. This isn't gonna be a book for everyone but if you think you can handle Ruby and Aura its worth your time. 

The relationship between Aura and Ruby is toxic but intoxicating, decadent and dangerous that will linger with you after you have turned the last page. 

The writing style took a minute for me to get used to. 

Definitely recommended for someone looking for a dark romance, just make sure you look at the triggers.

Holy shit, I don’t even know where to begin... Vibe was wow, just wow. I went in expecting one book and what I got was something completely different and utterly mind blowing. Liza did the damn thing!

The chemistry between Ruby & Aura is fucking amazing. Their relationship was gritty, toxic, and raw. Don’t let this being FF fool you, this is everything you could have want in a dark romance. 

Y’all need to read this ASAP, it’s so worth putting off the rest of your TBR for!
