Pun and terrible simile fully intended, interest in this book ebbed and flowed like the tide. It's a lovely story, but dear God, the worldbuilding felt incomplete at times, and like some things were thought of and implemented without editing to add into the start—hjärta? Why did that only get mentioned at the end??? Overall a good book and a really good enemies-to-lovers type of fantasy, and I might continue the series later, but dear God was that pacing rough.

Liked it more as the book went on. The enemies to lovers felt forced at times but the end was surprising and will likely pick up the rest of the series

This is the first fantasy book I’ve read and it truly stole my heart. I’m so sad I have to wait for the second book to come out this was just so well written.
