i enjoyed this almost as much as the first book, but i have a few criticisms. first, i noticed that nearly every single woman introduced eventually has a sexual or romantic relationship of some degree with a man she just met. the women in the story are clearly only there to keep the men going. 

second, the plot slowed down soooo much more in this book. i read it fairly quickly but was just waiting for it to be over. it felt like a lot of chapters were simply unnecessary and did nothing to further the plot, especially regarding annaïg's constant yapping about odd ingredients and attrebus's moaning about not being the dashing knight in shining armor that he thought he was. his character development was nice, though.

BUT! i still loved getting to read a story set in the world from my favorite video game franchise ever, so i'm rating it pretty high! it was accurate as far as elder scrolls quest lines go. im glad there was somewhat of a happy ending, but i would not consider reading this duology again.
