L.A. Breakdown

A novel on illegal car races in the streets of 1960s Los Angeles. One of the protagonists is a paraplegic who uses money from the injury award to build a souped-up Ford. He gets a driver and with himself in the passenger seat takes on a souped-up Chevy.
