Kiss Me
Reviews

3.75 stars!

I received an ARC of this book from the author via Give Me Books in exchange for an honest review. Thank you LP Lovell and Give Me Books! What a dark and twisted sequel to follow the Kill Me. This book did not disappoint. It was compelling, consistent with the first instalment, and just completely captivating. Those were a lot of Cs eh capo? *chuckles at own joke* So here are where Lovell hit the spots for me. Una. Her character is just so well built up and broken down by Lovell. She is able to make of a fictional character, a living being who lives and breathes; who acts and reacts in very human ways. If possible, Ina is even more conniving and deadly than in the previous novel, and I have to say, I wouldn't want to cross her. Nero. Now you're all thinking, "she's going to just talk about how great Lovell is at characterization". Well, yes. Because she is. I believe that that is the author's strength. Even the lesser important character show depth and layers. She makes George the dog awesome - and I'm not a dog person. *Gasp* I know, I know, I'm a cat person. For the record, I feel like Una would be too if she met a cat. Steers back into the review here. Here's what was missing for me. Is there going to be a third book? I don't know. So here is what I would have liked to have seen possibly resolved in this instalment if there wasn't a third. (this is going to be hard without spoilers) Anna and Una's relationship, the Elite, Una within the Italian mafia. Overall though, ai am very impressed with Lovell's skillful writing, and enticingly twisted plot line.
