Say Yes: A Hush, Hush Novella

Thank you to Page & Vine for the free copy of Say Yes! I was intrigued to see what this book would bring. Once I read it this was a epilogue novella of the couple from Hush Hush as well as an additional novella The Propostion that happens after the events of Say Yes. I will say that a lot of this could have been just combined with Hush Hush to give that additional romance that was kind of missing from the book and The Proposition didn’t really do anything instead of giving a big spicy scenes and have them face a situation they already came to a decision of how they felt about it and were possibly going to have to do the opposite. But it ultimately didn’t give me anything more than what was already provided in the book and the first novella for me. This is ultimately the highest rating I give for novellas since there were two here but I think finding that exact focus this all could have been included in one novella and parts in the original book.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading Lucia’s books. I’m never not reading another book she writes. Because oh my… she can probably write about rocks and make it a book you won’t be able to put down. She’s got mad skills.

Let me start with James Man-Of-My-Dreams Riviera. Have you met a sexier, more panties-melting book character? (Not counting the Olympian god Konstantin Kournakova.) Hmm? I’ll tell you – you. Have. Not.

Say Yes follows James and Aubrey’s story and it’s set around two years after Hush, Hush left off. If you haven’t read that one yet, now is the time to do it.

You can thank me for that book recommendation later.

I absolutely loved James and Aubrey’s story last year, it was one of my reads of the year, but this fell a little flat for me. I felt like Aubrey’s reasons for doing what she did weren’t fully explained and I missed James’s loving words.
I also felt like there was too much made of James’s age, we know he’s older, and it bordered on repetitive. 
Something else I wanted to see was other people’s reactions to them as a couple. A big deal was made about them, but nobody said anything?
Natalie’s storyline didn’t pull a chord for me either. 
I wanted to love this, but it fell a little flat.
